Sad

As I sit and stare at the moonlit sky,

My heart aches with sorrow, my mind awry.

Memories of you flood my mind,

Of all the love we left behind.

The silence is deafening, the pain so real,

I long for your touch, your kiss, your feel.

But you are gone, and I am alone,

With nothing but the memories we've known.

I close my eyes and try to sleep,

But all I see is you, in my dreams so deep.

I wish that I could turn back time,

And make you mine, and make us shine.

But fate had other plans, it seems,

And now my heart forever gleams.

So I'll hold on to the love we shared,

And keep it close, for you were always there.
