Our pledge is sealed and I feel an exhilaration that courses through every pore.
Edging forward, our toes just touch the crag as the wind pushes against our bodies.
I'm shaking with fear, my legs feel detached as if all my blood has somehow gone.
I look to you, your face mirrors mine.
Yet slowly begins to soften.
I'm not alone.
We have each other.
I fill my lungs, my chest filled with doubt, but I take the plunge as promised. Without warning your hand detaches in desperation.
Falling fast, as the earth spins violently round and round. Brilliant colors turn to darkness.
In these last moments I've never felt so lost and alone.
