Reflection

I looked into the mirror and didn't see me.

I saw someone else.

She may have looked like me,

And smiled like

But she wasn't me.

She wasn't alone in the world

And she hasn't been betrayed yet.

Her hopeful innocence hurt me.

I reached towards the glass,

Wishing to pull her away from the pain about to fall on her.

But all I felt was glass

And I saw me.
