Not so perfect
I've finally gotten the man I always prayed for, his smile warms my heart and his love is more than I've hopped for,
The days of courship were blissful like a wild flowers blossoming in spring, and the nights were nights we got drunk in desires as sturdy and as red as fresh wine.
Our vows marked the beginning of our life together, a life we would spend as one,
Yet on the night when our love would go higher than its peak, it reached it's peak.
I watched him stand by the window, while i hid under the table at the far conner of the room and clutched my knees to my chest. He had knocked at the door and asked me to let him in, after he had returned with the things he had gotten from the car parked in front of the lounge we planned to spend our honeymoon.
"Let me in," he spoke in a tone I had never heard him use, I stood still and halted from turning the door knob while the moon filtered it's rays into the room.
"You sound strange, are you okay?" I asked unable to ignore the uncomfortable feeling at the pit of my stomach. But the bang on the wooden door made me jolt as I took a step back.
"Let, me, in" he said with an animalistic growl"
I looked around the room and suddenly felt the need to hide, the bang on the door jolted me out of my thoughts as I headed towards the table at the end of the room besides the bed. I hid my slim frame beneath it and draped a long sheeth of cloth on it to hide myself. Immediately I stepped in, the door flew open as he stomped on it hard enough to break the locks.
I covered my mouth to stop my gasp from escaping my lips while I scanned my husband from the small opening of the cloth with widened eyes. His shirt was drenched in rich red blood flowing down from the corners of his mouth while his hand grasped unto the ripped bloody body of whom I realized was the driver.
His smile travelled to the sides of his eyes and exposed his sharp canines, yet his smile was no longer as beautiful as I remembered, the winds blew through the open curtains of the room while he took sturdy steps towards my hiding place, like a hunter would do to it's prey.
I watched him approach with blurry widened eyes, "this was not the man I married," I whispered softly. My heart dropped when I heard him chuckle and catch my gaze.
"I am the man you married, I've hidden this part of me for so long and it's time to let him out," he replied. I watched him drop the body and crouch besides it.
My eyes widened while I screamed when he ripped off his arm, I watched him munch on his flesh and fought the urge to puke out every drop of chocolate cake I had eaten at the wedding as the stench of raw flesh plunged the air.
I crawled out from the table and made the mistake of sprinting towards the door, he grabbed me by the arm and watched me struggle to leave his grasp, his arm as still as a rock.
"You will accept the little time you have left and bear my child" he said.
My brows furrowed while I went still and wondered who the others were and what he meant by little time.
He sent me flying towards the bed with a slap while I laid stiff in shook, "he had promised to never lay a hand on me" I thought through the tears that streamed down my cheeks.
Shivers ran down my spine when I gazed into his, eyes they weren't the warm shades of blue I loved to stare into, instead they were dark and cold it was almost asive his dark Iris had claimed all the color in his eyes.
"What are you?" I asked and wandered if he understood any word I spoke through my cries.
"I am not human, you like many of my other deceased wives will have the chance to bear me a child. The others didn't survive, they all died months before night of birth,"
"What did you do to them?" I couldn't help but ask
"I did, nothing. I am a demon that has feasted on human flesh to gain long life and power for thousands of years, it is expected for my offspring to do same, even to its own mother,"
"Please let me go and I'll tell no one about this," I spoke softly even through I was paralyzed with fear.
I tried to remind him of the time we spent together but it only made his brows furrow as he growled at me.
"There is no going back now, we are one and you belong to me. Don't worry it would be a great honor to feast on your flesh after you bear my child, something tells me you will survive long enough" he confessed with a smile that travelled up his eyes again.
I said stiff as my heart pounded in my chest while I stared into his eyes, he had won and there was nothing I could do about it,
He grew as tall as a tree and spreaded his dark limbs like branches while he stared at me, ready to claim his kill. I screamed when he moved to attack and jolted awake to an identical serenity; it was calmer and without a single trace of blood.
I turned to my side immediately I heard soft snores and found my dear husband sleeping soundly besides me.
I ran my fingers on skin on my cheeks, one side felt warm and I could almost feel the sting. With deep soft breaths, I laid back down and wrapped my arm around his stomach while I buried my fingers under his shirt. I closed my eyes and tried to convince my self it was just a dream, yet I felt a warm sensation stir in the pit of my womb. It was our first night together as husband and wife, yet strangely, I could tell I was pregnant.
