Friday Feature: @Born_Maverick

It appears we blinked collectively and another week has passed. It’s Friday and that is a good day for many reasons. Not least of all that we get to meet another lovely Proser. This week we go to a place of warmth and beauty to meet with a smashing chap who you have probably crossed paths with. Let's jump straight in...

P: What is your given name and your Proser username?

A: My given name is Azhar Murtuza, which means to shine and prosper. But once I started to grow I realised that it's not just the name what makes you shine bright, but the mettle in you which drives you to reach the distance. After lots of hustling and bustling, I found solace in being alone in my world where I can keep moving forward as I had learnt that, more bonding with people around only weakens you at heart. Though I like to socialise with interesting people, I never intend to take things on heart anymore. Just over a drink or two and then...Hi!! Bye!! Am on my way!!! Hence I prefer myself being called as Maverick. Born Maverick!!

It's what I love being called. On prose it's @born_maverick

P: Where do you live?

A: I live in the coastal city of India called Mangalore in Karnataka.

P: What is your occupation?

A: Well I am an entrepreneur looking after the logistics business after my graduation in engineering and management.

P: What is your relationship with writing and how has it evolved?

A: It's what runs in me, I feel more than my blood. I bleed my thoughts, my experiences and my heart out through words. I scrawl my passion and it's only to touch a person’s heart, through which I can give them a voice to their feelings which they find hard to share. If my writings touch even a single soul, I feel I have written something worthy and my work is done. That itself is an applause for me.

P: What value does reading add to both your personal and professional life?

A: Professionally it's nowhere connected, but yeah, personally I love to draw a leaf out of every writers experience as they are all unique in their approach and you can just sit back and be lost in the thoughts, imaginations or situations fellow writers have been through. I always give immense respect to every single soul out there who writes even a single word. It's not a word but it's their feelings that they have let out. It's a part of humanity to respect the feelings of another person. I value it all.

P: Can you describe your current literary ventures and what can we look forward to in future posts?

A: Hmmm…my current literary ventures started with Prose itself and I owe it all to them for starting such a beautiful platform where I felt " Oh Yes!! This is where I can exhibit myself and reach out to the world while also be rectified over my mistakes from few of the pro writers in here !" And this is exactly how it's working!

Every day I see fellow writers picking up the topics and posting it on the portals and I get inspired by them to do the same thing and write something on the similar lines. But mainly my strong area is Poetry, prose, and romantic writings and you can expect a lot of those in future. At times seeing me in the philosophy list shouldn't be shocking though.

P: What do you love about TheProse.com?

A: It's immense!! I am in love with the way it works. Every writer has a freedom of expressing themselves with no censorship and that's one of the greatest assets a writer can expect. The way the team is engaging with the fellow writers is something to be taken note of. Since my inception in here all I have been finding is the support of fellow writers at every step by someone or the other for every post I have been posting. What more do you expect, especially when you are aspiring to become a notable writer? I feel to have gained momentum to my scrawling passion through prose. I owe it to Prose and one of fellow Prosers.

P: Is there one book that you would recommend everybody should read before they die?

A : Wings Of Fire by Dr. APJ - This is one book which inspires even a common man to turn his goals into reality.

P: Do you have an unsung hero who got you into reading and/or writing?

A: No hero as such, but yeah, I probably get inspired from the beauty of nature as well as a person. Nature is something I am yet to describe in my poetry and about a person, yes I have always tried to place myself in a position of a common man and how it feels to fall in love with a fallen star who has now become an angel and living amongst us. That's the flow what you can find in my poetry and such is the way I probably imagine things. Though there are many stars across I have tried to stick to one Arcturus which I call it Swa. So you can say this is my inspiration for loving and romantic poetries and about the deep broken feelings I try to pen down my own thoughts and bleed my pain in my writings.

In short , My heroes are probably my own thoughts and Swa is that which inspire me to write.

P: Describe yourself in three words!

A: Adamantine , Maverick , Outspoken

P: Is there one quote, from a writer or otherwise, that sums you up?

A: "You just have to be lucky enough to find that someone who appreciates you...that someone sometimes may be yourself "

I had always heard about this saying till the half part but I have extended it further as at times when we are left stranded it's only we who can lift ourselves rather than finding someone else to push us.

P: Favourite music to write and/or read to?

A: I try not to mix them up as both are something which I give preference at different times.

P: You climb out of a time machine into a dystopian future with no books. What do you tell them?

A: "Oh!! Do you want me to write one book for a read? "

P: Is there anything else you’d like us to know about you/your work/social media accounts?

A: Yeah to be honest, I would like to thank you guys at first place as you all have been doing a great job by providing a platform for likeminded people like me to share the honours. I have come across very, very genuine people over here who have been guiding and supporting at every instance and this is what I required and it gets me going. I wish to do all the justice to this place and fellow readers by posting some quality work. My work is very much genuine as I try to fill myself in the shoes of particular situation and then scrawl. I hope you all like it and keep reading and sharing so that we all engage in building healthy momentum. This place should be a force to reckon with for all the writers.

I have not been much active on other social media but yeah I have recently started to share it on Instagram with the same Id of born_maverick. All I need is the support from the readers and writers to keep me going.

One more thing I would like to share is that I feel we also need a connect to the non-writers and admirers of writings where they can just read our works. I hope that happens soon.

All I can say at the end of it is that...I am glad to be a part of such lively and guiding people. Thanks a lot Prose. Keep up the good work. :)

No, thank YOU @born_maverick for your honesty, candour and passion. Do please go read him, follow him and write to him on all of the platforms, but of course, here on Prose first!
