“Peter!” They were coming back for him. They were coming back. Peter didn’t move. He didn’t try to crack open his heavy eyelids. There was nothing to see except the suffocating blackness that had been choking him for so long. He lay there, expecting any second for the door to creak open, and for his tortures to step into the room. They would kick him, striking him across the face as they always did, adding a few more bruises on top of the ones that tormented his body already.
