Where did it go

We used to live in a world where manners were valued.

Please and thank you were not a choice

People spoke in a polite voice.

I am not sure what happened along the way

Maybe it's the demeaning music or shows

Somehow it has become okay to belittle others

Since when has being the bully won elections?

Being classless has become cool

Our grandparents would think we're fools

Our country's arrogance puts me to shame

But I still would never call people names

Kindness goes a long way

Hopefully people will realize this again,
