To Be Insane
To this paper my pen can not write
Maybe it's the rain, maybe it's insight
Are we all broken, lost in the night?
I think to my childhood on sidewalks
Kickball with neighbors in the park
Broken bones comforting in the dark.
I think to my teenage years on rivers
Beautiful scenes to make you shiver
A broken heart gifted to me forever.
I think to my years of broad travel
Knowledge not everyone can just gravel
In myself I found no damsel.
In those years of hurt and pain
I discovered myself with nothing to gain
Anyone can be broken with self shame
But to fix yourself is really insane.
