Dance of time
Lovely dancer in orange chiffon
Please bring the fertile harvest on
Do not dally and miss your chance
Defy the season and the driving rain
To be the belle of old time's dance.
I hear the racing heart's drumbeat
If only time could stop and breathe
I too could reach nirvana's seat
But the racing clock will never cease
To chasten latecomers to the feast.
So dance my lady, dance my dame
Know your admirers have no shame
We'll till the earth and play the game
For survival if not for lasting fame
Praising always your eternal name.
