Shallow Soul
You taunt and I want to rip you to pieces
for opening my humanity
to make me bleed at your words.
My insecurities flood the ground
because I believe the words you say
that should mean nothing
if only I knew who I was.
I say nothing,
you do not feel my rage or my hatred.
My back is to you as I walk away
my feelings pouring warm as blood from my soul.
I have let you say who I am,
mold me like wet mud wrapped around a pool of water that holds
all that I am.
Rippling with each taunt, you skip over my waters
and sink in deep,
your lies drowning to become me.
