Sand Portal

scattered pocket lint falls

successfully through

no fizzle

no crack or pop

no implosion of any kind.

the next step is to jump

and hope I land on my feet.

despite the common belief,

portals are desperate

and dangerous

so when I draw those lines

and speak in the sand

I am inescapably lost

and unbelievably thirsty.

if only I had a landing pillow.
