Dancing with my demons
Blue eyes meet glowing gold,
Flames twirl to a well rehearsed song,
His smile brings me closer,
Speaking promises of passion,
Promises of a warm heaven inside hell.
I step forward; our hands raise,
Palms parallel; synchronized
He knows this dance as well as he knows my heart,
For he has lived inside of me,
As he lives in all of us,
An angel that can fall to dark.
Two hands entwine,
Another rests upon my him,
A heavy anchor on my skin,
I place a shaking hand over his shoulder,
His skin bare and like a the core of a star.
We step together,
The only music the thunderous beating of my heart,
As his eyes flash lighting,
I glow with a traitorous desire,
My body speaks the words that I don't need to say,
For he has heard my thought already,
Knows that I'm already his,
My soul given freely should he ask.
The devil spins me round in circles,
I orbit him as if he is my own sun,
Glimpse a long gone halo,
A shadow of wings covered in an enchanting sunrise,
A glamour of celestial light,
To cover the darkness within the facade.
As the sun begins to rise and crimson and gold begin to disappear,
He bows to me and leaves a gentle kiss,
An imprint on my lips,
"Goodbye, my love. We will meet again soon."
