Mistakes

People say I deserve better,

But I know that I'm the one who ruined this.

I wanted too much from you,

And I can't admit it's you I miss.

I wonder if I can hide a little longer,

From what I did.

Hiding isn't the answer,

I just wish I could fall off the grid.

People tell me to get over it,

It seems impossible to move on.

Do you know how much guilt I have?

To know I was in the wrong.

I wonder if you wanted to forget the past,

To go just go back,

To forgive what's happened,

If I'd even accept that.
