The Fruit Flyer
The Fruit Flyer is for beach lovers who want to relax, maybe isolate, read, and just exist in nature. You kind of have to know about the tides changing every six hours including the most inland place where the waves break and the farthest out the tide recedes. Fruit Flying can be done to the extreme, or a safer route (by "staking" closer to shore) can be taken. It is the flyer's choice.
The name Fruit Flyer was chosen because it mimics how a fruit fly circles and sways as it hovers over ripe fruit. That is what you do above the ocean. I'll explain.
You purchase a Fruit Flyer. It comes in a box about 3x2 feet. Go to the ocean at low tide or as the water slowly returns to high tide. Place the helium filled stake halfway into the sandy ocean floor before the salty water arrives. This is the part that is about twenty pounds. The stake is a tank of helium designed to bore into sand and hold. It has the shape of a tubular fish hook. It's edges on one end are wedged. Attached via cable is an inflatable chair. The chair will fill with helium when you push the 'start' button. The 'start' button is on the chair's armrest. The helium travels through the cable to fill the chair. The cable is not more than 20 feet long which is adjustable in length. Choosing the cable length is also available on the armrest of your fruit flying chair. It is recommended you adjust the cable length (and think ahead about the tide) before you fill the chair. As the chair takes form, hop in. It will balance itself based on the weight distribution it receives to sit you upright, slightly reclined. A release button allows for a safe descent to the ground or water after the tide has returned. So you rest above the ocean's tide, float about as the wind swirls you. Check out a seagull's butt. There are drink holders on the other armrest and an optional umbrella release. Come down when your darn good and ready. You can also fruit fly in your backyard but the ocean experience is recommended.
