Memories Lost at 2 (a line poem)
Of chalk tracings on a sunken boulder
Of thick hackberry trees
Of scattered bolts and washers on a dirty garage floor
Of tiny fistfuls of an asperous beard
Of lonely toes peeking out from under a door
Of a storage tub covered with plastic wrap
Of a bright blue cat and a thickly mascaraed elephant
Of a puffy pink snowsuit
Of a home I've never know.
