The Girl in the Black Dress
As the calm weather turned into a slight breeze, her blonde hair was lifted up. Her blue eyes gazed into the sunset and gave off a twinkle. She stood there, alone. Almost as if time stood still around her. Birds sang a soft melody in the distance. Daises and daffodils seemed to have become flawed by the presence of her breath-taking beauty. Everything was pale in comparison to her. She was perfect in almost every imaginable way, yet she was alone. No family nor friends were near her. In all appearances, she seemed content. However, a single tear went down her cheek and everything became quiet, almost as if nature was concerned for her. What started as a teardrop turned into a downpour. She feel to her knees and looked up, feeling regret and sorrow. Mascara ran down her face and her sobs broke the silence. Then she stopped and listened. She heard familiar heavy footsteps coming from behind her. She turned around to see a caring hand reaching out to her and she accepted it. The man observed her state of mind and slowly said, "I am sorry for your loss. Are you ready?" She wiped off her face and nodded. Dismal church bells started to ring as they approached the dismal funeral.
