A Window of Opportunity
The heart was pounding though the chest. Not from fatigue or hesitation, but from wonderment and adrenaline. The whistle of air screaming around the visor, it only set the mind at ease. A daring glance in the opposite direction confirmed suspicions of opposition, and of the objective. Two demons thundering right behind, murderous intent in their eyes, with that angelic rock gliding above in an arc. It almost seemed to be singing as it spun perfectly through the sky. Excitement got the better of the muscles and they worked just a little too hard. One over zealous push set a domino effect of rapid calculations off, and with even more haste nerves reacted to the corrections. Every flight response was begging to go faster, but that voice may as well have been a mouse's squeak to the roar of pride shouting, "Jump!" Only a few fractions of a second remained as that idol floated down into inevitable violence. Fingers wrapped around with a decisive grip as ribs crunched between the mass of two would be freight trains. The body, broken, the game, won.
