Your Greatest Ally
As life runs its course, many obstacles seem to soar.
High into the sky, a swarm of flies.
Time and time again, we face our greatest adversary.
It is not the ones below or above us, but rather quite the contrary.
It is the face we see in the mirror day after day,
The one who thinks, but often has no say.
It fools us at times in believing in its helpful deeds,
Only to plant the most malignant seed.
The seed of helplessness sprouts as it makes it coup,
However one can have their tools too.
One feels as if they should fend for themselves,
And cannot ask for help, or else.
However when one is fighting against their inner self,
Wouldn't the best counter be another's help?
