Shadows
A Darkness lingers where few have traveled,
'Cross a raging river royal as blue.
Those few who wish to may dare to unravel
A spool of light to shine the long way through.
Caution begs thee grasp on this shadowed path.
A howling of the wind snares it's fearful
Prey with a jaded, cackling, wispy laugh.
Weary eyed wanderers, left sorrowful,
And ill met by moonlight upon this dank
And dirty ground. Life, melting as the snow,
Left little to dust. Now, resting by bank,
A creature with brackish red eyes aglow,
Leaves a small gift for those who can bear it,
Open and thou shall see, who lies with it.
