Evenings Light
The sun sets her reddened eye
Coloring the sky with one last cry
The horizon carrying a final sigh
As she takes her mark from the sky
The land slips into a dreamless sleep
Its secrets its own to keep
As the shadows lengthen the deep
An opalescent light will seep
The moon rises with her pride
Silver and luminous in her stride
Providing the world an evening guide
The sea longing for her in his tide
Draping the moon in a hazy shawl
The clouds continue their lazy crawl
Across the speckled night they sprawl
Whilst the waves crash and brawl
In time the sea calms its roar
Settling for a gentle kiss on the shore
With hopes to the pale orb it will soar
She'll find it at the close of evenings door
