Sound carries further at night
Are there words when you scream at the moon?
Echoes of emotion bounce back from that cold stone
Dredged from depths of soul or stomachache
Casting a spell raging moaning rapturous.
The moon does not listen to mundane mutterings
Those are for the bright light of noon
or fluorescent flickering inside four walls
What is carried on your breath as you hurl it to the sky?
If your heart is on your sleeve or in your throat,
Then what power do you put into those sounds
That the moon evokes hanging above?
Will your whispers make the water droplets in the airĀ
change their state their forms or influence?
Or will shouting louder carry those feelings further,
To make the moon cry tears sizzling with power?
