Prologue-First Draft
It was a cold night 8 years ago, I met a boy my age on(under) the most unusual circumstances. I was standing out in the rain because my parents were at it again. Reminding me of my duty and how all of my training was to prepare me for a day I would need it, all of this didn't make sense to me. If it was so important why couldn't they just tell me the reasons why I was training on things that most of my friends probably didn't know the first thing about nor would they probably ever need to. So why was I any different? Then out of the rain a small bubble appeared I stared at it just hovering there about a half mile away down the road. I rubbed my eyes. Sheesh I must be getting tired. I heard a sound and looked up. I can't explain the sound to this very day it was unlike anything I'd ever heard and there was a boy my age slightly taller than I was a bit skinnier than I. He stood there looking around like he was in trouble. I watched him take off down the road. I thought he might be in trouble so I took off after him. I was running and suddenly I had lost sight of him I stopped and listened to the rain to hear anything I could of the boys location and there to the left a few feet was the ally way where he stood and I ran to him I soon realized he was being cornered by men in dark suites they had no weapons i couldn't smell any metal or gunpowder on them. But they raised there hands and began to speak that's when I yelled out leave the boy alone! The men came after me but I was quicker. I motioned for the boy to follow and we took off back towards my house we ran and ran until we reached the door I swung it open and we charged inside the boy quick behind my steps. We stood there dripping wet from the rain and stared at my parents my father ran to me who is this boy!? I turned rather squeamish when I realized what I had done..without knowing a single thing about the boy I had just rescued. "I'm Ailan sir, the boy spoke. Ailan who is your father? "M-my father is lord Hallin sir. Can you help me? I don't know where I am. My father stood with an unusual look in his eyes as he looked at my mother. They both locked eyes with the boy, you are safe here with us Ailan. Right now you boys are soaked to the bone. Let Eliyrah get you two cleaned up then we will talk Ailan.
