Dessicated Sayings
What an absolutely fascinating little biscuit of interest this is turning out to be kittens, stripping away the layers of obscurity from time worn and tired old sayings that people used to spout at every opportunity. Oh they were the days when being lectured at school meant a tirade of these ancient chestnuts being hurled at you by some grey old teacher.
Today I have the greatest of pleasure in bringing to your attention another golden titbit from the vault of obscurity, to wit;
"Mrs do with as you would be done by".
This wondrous phrase was, when I was a scruffy urchin, used to lecture unruly and petulant youngsters in the hope they would somehow benefit from its deep and mysterious meaning, however it was couched in a foreign tongue as far as we were concerned as we never for a moment understood what it meant.
We simply nodded our sorry heads and said "Yes Mr Cockellshot".
And to be honest it is a little tired isn't it and I doubt even today's super kids with their iPads and doodads would understand it, so, without any further meandering here is how it should be amended to read;-
Treat others in the way you'd like to be treated.
Oh I think that is much simpler don't you?
That's it kittens, run along, Mummies made some fresh cakes for you all, you lucky lot!
