Cool, what's the synopsis?

A 17 year old girl, assigned as guardian to a unique group of children (the last of their race), is deceived by a man who claims he wants to help her but kidnaps her.
In order to get away, she must convince him she want to stay. She earns his trust, and learns his secrets.
Soon her pity for him twists into something deeper. Something sinister and confusing which threatens to spiral out of control.
When tragic news reaches her about the children she left behind, she comes to her senses and leaves the man, just in time to save the remaining children from a similar fate. She learns to forgive herself and to trust the people around her to help.
(It's book 3 in a young adult speculative series).

Um, I left out the stuff about realms and portals etc. And the 'man' is the lord of darkness. Haha.
