The Eye House.
The little town of Uko had only one famous eye doctor. He loved working on his patients eyes. His clients all liked how serious he took his job. But they never knew exactly how he used to always get his work done so perfectly. He must have a magical touch, they all thought.
Dr. Cornea L. didn't reveal to any stranger exactly where he got his spare great seeing eyes from. His only child, Iris Lash, every week would pay a quick visit to the nearest main child hospital. There she would pick at least only a few brand newborn baby eyes. The nurses always wondered why there was a case- of several blind newborns each week.
One day, a young couple decided to not place their new born child in the newborn nursery room. When the time for eye collecting had arrived their baby was far away from harm.
Nighttime came. All was quiet and calm in all the little town. Except for a panicked young miss who couldn't understand why she felt so uneasy. She had a feeling that something wasn't right. Her father was fast asleep, and she could even hear his loud snore. Maybe, it was the eye collection that made her feel tired. She did make sure that she retrieved several for her Dad's work.
The moment Iris was in the newborn nursery she took a part of the other babies spirits. This way she can easily track all of them down- if she ever needs additional eyes. She didn't realize that there was a baby that she had left with a full load of spirit.
Moments passed and the fully spirited baby had grown into a lovely, young lady. Her parents called her Ophelia.
Ophelia Glass loves to tour her hometown. She has been to most parts of the little town of Uko, except for the Eye House. Her parents tell her not to go to any strange house without someone she knows really well.
She decides to make a visit to the Eye House, with her pal Edron. Ophelia trusts him with her life. Edron always looks out for her.
Ophelia asks Edron if they can head to the Eye House after twelve o´clock at noon. At first he hesitates. He doesn't want to head to the Eye House. Not only does the name give him goosebumps, he also doesn't like going to any Doctor's place.
His pal keeps bugging him. Edron knows that she won't stop. If they didn't go to the Eye House today, Ophelia would still ask that they go the next day.
Edron: Fine. Let's go to the Eye House. Now could you stop bothering to ask over & over again.
Ophelia: Thanks a lot Edron. You're a great pal.
At the Eye House, Dr. Cornea L. studies his Eye collection while his daugher, Iris, slowly approaches her father, and informs him that there is something he needs to know. And that her problem was heading their way.
Iris tells her father about the day that she had unkowningly missed spirit shaking one newborn. Her Dad tells her she doesn't need to worry.
A few minutes later, there's a knock at the front door. Iris opens the door for Edron and Ophelia. They finally reached their destination.
Edron: Hello. We've just come to take a tour around here. It was actually Ophelia's idea.
Iris: I'm Ms. Iris Lash. Dr. Cornea L's daughter.
Iris smiles as she leads the two friends to the Eye chart room. A place where Iris has placed pictures of the eyes she's collected- on a wall. Ophelia looks in horror as there is also a station for animal heads without eyes, and they all seem to be crying for help.
Edron holds Ophelia's hand. Ophelia slips out of Edron's grip, and tries to open one of the doors in the hallway. Iris quickly grabs a hold of the door and locks it.
Ophelia's head starts to spin. Edron tries to grab her before she falls to the ground. Right before Ophelia hits the ground, she sees Iris' eyes maple sugar eyes glow- a dark, bolty deep tiger brown-orange yellow.
Soon the sun had set and night was approaching. The town people of Uko always looked out for and helped one another. Edron and Ophelia's parents wondered where the two could be.
One of the little kids told them that it looked like they were headed to the Eye House.
Within a short while they made it to the Eye House spot. They were shocked to see that where the Eye House once stood, there was now an old birch tree.
