Broken

Salty tears streak down my cheeks

I feel a darkness spreading through my body

I can feel despair seeping through the cracks in my heart

And depression crushing me down

I try to find the light

But the night obscures my sight

I try to scream

But the night muffles my voice

I'm trapped inside my mind

A prison of isolation

The solitude plays with my thoughts

And tears me to pieces

I lay broken

My heart scattered around

Like shards of hurt

That continue to pierce my skin

You slowly remove my heart from deep under my flesh

And put it back together

Piece by piece

Until I'm whole again
