The Red Eyed Man
The red eyed man.

It was a very hot summer when we moved into our new house. It was a two story house that sat at the end of a long dead end road just outside of town. It was white with a red tin roof. It had four bedrooms and two bathrooms up stairs and a half bath down stairs, so plenty of places to go when nature called. As you walked in the house it had a pretty neat entry way with stairs going up to the second floor. Over to right lead into the family room, to the left to the dinning room and through there into the kitchen. Very nice house but old and in need of some cleaning.
As you go up the stairs the master bedroom was to the right and to the left was the other three bedrooms. I ran up the stairs before my sister's could get into the house, I had to pick the best bedroom for myself. As I entered the first bedroom, it was small so I knew my youngest sister would love it. I ran into the next room and boom it hit me, this was the one for me. The biggest bedroom and it had a window looking out into the back yard. Yep my room for sure.
After we got moved in and set up. I walked out on the back porch and looked at the grown up yard and right then I knew what I was going to be doing on my summer break. My dad came out after me and laid his hand on my shoulder and with a big smile he said, " Yep, good thing I bought that new mower." Yep it sucks being the only guy in the family besides my dad, that had to work all the time.
It wasn't long before I knew something was off about this place. I started hearing noises around the house. Scratching sounds, bumping sounds coming from all over the house and mostly from the attic. Sounded like bowling balls rolling around and hitting the walls. No one believed me but over the next few days just about everyone heard something. One day our dog Max came into the kitchen and started acting funny then started barking at the cabinet under the sink. The hair was raised up on his neck and he was throwing a fit. Then boom all of a sudden the cabinet door flew open and hit him in the side knocking him down. Max yelped and took off out the door and would never come back into the house again. Everyone one was like it's just faulty cabinet doors nothing to worry about. I was like yeah right.
One of the hottest days in July the main air-conditioning unit tore up and the only air-conditioning unit in the house that worked was in my parents room, so at night we would pile on the floor in their room to sleep. We made pillets out of blankets and stuff. Wasn't the most comfortable but better than the rest of the hot house. During the day we staid mostly outside in the shade.
A few days later my cousin Bud came over to stay with us for awhile. I told him about all the noises around the house and what happened to Max. At first he didn't believe me but it wasn't long before he heard some things to. We was having trouble finding someone to come out there a fix the main air-conditioning unit, so we were all still piling into our parents room.
One night as we all laid in the bedroom floor. Bud and I was more at the foot of the bed and my sisters was at the side of the bed. The only light on was coming from the master bathroom over to the left of us. I was tired so I fell asleep fast. Then at some point in the night I had to pee. I woke up and looked over to right and setting on the top of the dresser was a figure of a man and he had red glowing eyes, staring right at me. The light from the bathroom just made a light shadow around the figure. As I laid there not able to move, not able to yell or even speak. No I was frozen. I wanted to yell, scream but couldn't. Wanted to move and wake up my cousin Bud but couldn't. There we was staring at each other through the haze of the bathroom light.
As time went by he or it never moved, no it just sat there looking at me, staring at me, looking right through me. Don't know how much time past but as soon as the sun light came through the window the figure faded away. As soon as it was gone I was able to move again so I got up and rushed to the bathroom and peed for like five minutes. As everyone woke up I told them what I had saw, but everyone said I was dreaming. I know I wasn't. Bud laughed at me saying I made it up to scare everyone but I knew better.
For the next few nights I couldn't sleep in the room at night. I just laid awake watching for the figure to return but night after night I didn't see it. I took naps during the day but still felt tired.
Two weeks later and the last night we would have to sleep on the floor because the next day a man was coming to finally fix the main air-conditioning unit. We was all piled in the floor again and this time I just couldn't stay awake and fell asleep fast.
Boom I felt a punch to my arm so I woke up. Bud was still hitting me when I looked up and there was the figure again staring at us. Just sitting there on the dresser looking through us with those fiery red eyes. I was frozen again, I couldn't move, I tried to yell, scream but couldn't. Finally Bud let out a loud scream that woke everyone up and then everyone saw the man with the red eyes right before he faded away.
No one wanted to stay in that room again and it wasn't long before we moved out. But to this day no one knows who or what the figure of the man with red eyes was.
The End.
