this fictional life scurried up the page

from the paper onto the table plane

where it began to bleed in circle-stain

upon the pretty linen table clothe

it completely horrified the housewife

who labored hours trying to scrub it out

but the husband was so vexed by such waste

of Time as to deem the whole thing be tossed

together they plunked down the practical

plastic-spread as would surely launder well

only their orphan was left in lament

over the Mandala that had been lost
