From Me to We
I am but the heart and soul,
Of a case that surrounds me.
A lustrum of sadness and loss,
Not knowing when I will be free.
You were light and the dark,
A confusion of love and hate.
Leaving a shadow so cold,
I often said it was fate.
The tears and depression,
A pain so acute.
Was once a daily occurrence,
That left one once mute.
Your words and harsh actions,
Bruised deep down within.
Then came that last day,
When the end would begin.
No more will it happen,
I am strong, I am me.
The woman I once was,
You will no longer see.
I have found a new love,
One that accepts me for me.
My size does not matter,
From now on, we are ‘We’
