These scars map the edges of my tetonic plates.

A meteorite had obliterated a vast majority of life that had been present on my skin... but it bought new ones.

At first the new citizens threatened to pull me under. Indeed, I dunked my head under the onyx sea on more than one occasion. Then I conducted interviews and citizenship tests and we all agreed on a truce.

I had the power. They had the land.

Earthquakes came. Tsunamis knocked the second time. But my tetonic plates remain.
