Eager Eyes
I once was a child
As any other child, I believed in fairy tales
I saw this world with wide eager eyes
I imagine traveling this world as I grow into a man
I expect to be mesmerized by the enchanting landscapes
I expect to be in awe of the different cultures and their traditions
As every child does, this boy grew into a man
His eyes became wide with sadness through his travels
His heart yearned for the poverty stricken countries
He was disgusted by the garbage, suffocating mother nature’s precious resources
This man was forever changed
This world we live in
The people we encounter
It’s all a disappointment
Never to be changed
Because not every boy who turns into a man sees the world as this man did
They are diamonds in the rough
Seeing this world without blinders
Unlike anyone else
