“Human Things” (excerpt)
“My God, my God...Why have you forsaken me?!” Lucifer cried as he felt a sharp pain in the side. Looking down, he saw a sword made of Soulsteel, thrust through his left rib cage. At the other end of the sword stood an angel: a tall man with golden locks of wavy hair and armor that was polished so well, that it shone with a brilliance. The angel’s name was Gabriel.
“I’m sorry Lucifer.” The angel said, pushing the sword deeper until golden blood—or Ichor—started to flow freely from the wound. “It is not my bidding.”
“I know brother, I know. It was I who had committed a sin against divinity. All because I wanted to help the mortals and because—he paused, taking a heavy breath and placing a hand on his side—“I was too prideful. Hah! I’m such a fool to think I’d be forgiven...merciful and forgiving, my ass.
