It’s Always a Good Time
Reaper's brother and sister are two of his favorite people in the world. It's difficult to pick precious memories to write about because there are literally too many to count. Reaper recalls epic sword fights in the backyard with fallen tree banches going from fighting each other to fighting an attack of pirates ghosts. Reaper remembers hopping from couch to couch because the floor was made of lava and one mistep meant instant death. Reaper thinks nastalgically of the performances he and his siblings would put on (complete with costume changes) of there favorite movies. Because before internet was as accecable as clean water in a 1st world country kids had little choice but to watch the same movie over and over again until they could quote it verbatum, which we could. We didn't have legos so we would build robots and cars with bricks instread. After a while we stopped noticing the scratches and cracked finger and toenails. Reaper remember waking his siblings early on Saturday mornings to partake in the most sacred ritual, that of the watching of Saturday morning cartoons. Sometimes Reapers sisiter would go back to sleep but things were always more fun when she didnt. Reaper thinks foundly of the afternoons spent playing video games with Reapers brother as his designated "Guy in a chair" One of the best you could ask for. Reaper had just as much fun watching his brother play games while Reaper voice acted the bossess giving them compelling back stories of why they couldnt afford to loose often bring the protagonists morality and motives to question. Reaper remembers binge watching entire series with his sister and talking for hours (Mostly Reaper) Analysisng the show for substance, meaning and execution. Reapers sister is quite the enthusiastic listener. Reaper remembers being whooped the way only a loving parent can whoop a child. We were all punished seperately because our parents wanted a confession out of us of who was responsible for breaking Mom's favorite chair.. Hours later after being sent back to our room with sadle sores that'd put a cowboy to shame we learned that none of us snitched. If you've ever seen the interagation scene of four brothers, it was kinda like that. Reaper remembers like it was yesterday as Reaper's sister read Harry Potter to her siblings as was tradition. [Is a spoiler alert still nesessary 12ish years later? SPOILER!] Where were you when Albus Dumbledore fell from the astronomy tower? It was 6:00 am on a summer morning. Reaper's siblings were in his room as we concluded the 6th book of the Harry Potter series having been up all night reading. We were to stunned to move. it was as if we'd actually lost a mentor that day. It was with great effort and teamwork that we got moving again. Reapers brother had football practice in an hour. We decided to both drop him off at the school. None of us wanted to be alone. Reaper remembers the promise the three of us made at the bus stop all those years ago. Having seen 1st hand how anger, bitterness, and unforgiveness can tear a family apart, as it had with our uncles, we made a vow to never allow a long standing conflict to come between the love we have for each other. We've held true thus far. This meager display barely scratches the surface because in truth just about every memory involving his siblings are precious to Reaper. There not all glamours, exciting, or revolutionary but there precious all the same. This is one of the resons Reaper is a firm believer of the phrase, Its not really what you do, but who you do it with that makes something special.
