If I Had Known

If I had known that I would lose you so young, maybe I’d have paid more attention. There’s so much I wish I’d learned from you. I’m doing those things now. Trying my best to do them like you did.

If I had known that it was going to happen that day, I would have been home to greet you at the door. Could I have made a difference? Probably not but at least I could have said good bye.

If I had known, I would have gotten along better with you. I was only eighteen. I was stupid. You were the greatest man I’ve ever known. If I had known I was gonna lose you, I’d have told you that... everyday.
