ACTIONS...
"All is fair in love and war,"
A tired phrase from days of yore,
But, these old words, no power hold,
the truth is much more frigid cold,
The truth is hidden deep inside,
Of lying lovers, raging pride,
The bitter bullets tearing through,
The heart, soul, bones, and sinew,
lies, deceit, the scars we tote,
Of life and love, our dirty coat.
Our pristine clothes were stained with red,
From cuts and scrapes and scars that bled.
The only time that fair is fair,
Is in the hands of love and care,
Snapped sinews stitch, and bones unbreak,
Our souls and hearts no longer ache.
The fear we felt, is chased away,
The pain replaced with better days,
All is fair in love in and war,
A tired phrase from days of yore
But when these words are acted on,
The quote becomes a different song,
Instead of lies and pain and pride,
True love, true life, and joy preside.
