Create A Setting
Think of a place, any place. The room you're sitting in, your house, some store, the inside of your car. Maybe it's the meadow in your dreams. Or the planet of your dreams. Whatever it may be, real or fake, think of it and describe what you see down to the finest detail. Try to make it so that the reader feels they themselves are looking at what you describe. The Table Setting
It used to be the center
till blocked by plaque
and lack of reason
...this visible disgust
that lingers in the mop
and festers in the sponge...
black 'n blue mold takes hold
no matter how we'd squeeze
and long to clean it up...
the old counter has ticked
with drops of crusted blood
...these notches and deficits
and scores of many years...
goodness knows what
was eating us so
that the surface
should take
such a beating...
odd fruits and flesh
that we were grudgingly
coring and peeling...
a raw ambition
and dreaming
to which we'd
given up
so much
meaning...
and then
wiped as
crumbs...
with such
lack of
feeling
