Distant World

Follow me through

the salty flow of

honey.

It's sweeter than the sailors

make it out to be.

I dip my torso

beneath this foreign dimension.

I don't belong this deep

but my body drifted from the shallow.

Home of shells and glowing gills

I am shipwrecked on my own.

Below my feet are jaws

as powerful as machines.

Yet somehow my soul is at peace

as I remain afloat

above a silent, distant world.
