Genevieve stared off at the Eiffel Tower, it's lights the brightest thing in the night sky, as she was accustomed to doing from the biggest window in the palace so many nights before. She twirled a finger around one of her sandy blonde ringlets and let it lose, picking up another strand as she did so and sighing faintly before looking up at the moon with sad green eyes.
"I wish... I wish there were some way I could send him my affection. My love has been gone so long now I fear I'll never see him again." she spoke lightly but as she did a sudden movement in her peripheral vision caught her attention and she turned to see what it was. She gasped at what was none other than a being, radiating some sort of energy and light.
It spoke. "Sweet darling why do you fret? I have heard your cries every night for your love to return, I am here to offer relief."
Genevieve had heard of beings like this before and their tie to the moon but she had never given credibility to the idea herself until now.
"Perhaps you can bring my Nicolai home to me?"
The blonde girl sang out in her melodious youthful tone to this luminous being in hopes that she would be granted her wish.
"I am sorry dearest but he has a destiny to achieve far from this place and so I cannot grant this early return to you."
The lunar genie frowned a bit with it's bright features as it seen the girls pitiful disappointment and in turn offered another plan.
"If you like I could give you the power to pluck stars from the vast stellar ocean of the night, fill them with your love and shoot them across the sky to your beloved with this divine bow instead?"
The girl, knowing it better to compromise than get nothing, agreed to the moon servants terms and was granted this wish.
To this day, Genevieve shoots her stars to Nicolai to remind him how much she loves him and wishes for his safe return.
