The Wrong Lake
By: Lexi Hunt
What if I was born into a different body of water
Bounded together
By the thousands of souls that set before my eyes
The glistening pupils of only one perspectives
Shaped and altered by hundreds of forces
In which they choose my destiny; my future
My future is defined
By the sustaining occurrence
Of the antagonists breakthrough
On my heart
But what if my heart is shattered
And that’s what is holding me back
The perspective was shifted by another heart
A broken one
That tore me apart
Suffering a drought
Of spinning thoughts
like a tsunami just hitting shore
That left me stranded in the body of water
I wasn’t meant to drowned into.
