Fall Out Boy is my growing-up band. We go together like headphones and an iPod Shuffle. I've loved them since fifth grade, ever since I got a radio in my room. They've grown and matured at almost the same rate as a band as I have a person, and I can't thank them more for that. Their style isn't even really a style. It's a goal to make everyone feel like they're not alone.
In terms of words, they are all twisted humor, sarcasm and a tiny percent of really sad songs that don't fit in with the rest, but you love them and know they're there. In every album they're there.
The first song I heard was Sugar, We're Goin Down, and after hearing it a few times, I thought the words were the weirdest song lyrics ever, and the lead singer's voice was so funny, I think I eventually had to look them up on YouTube. That's where I'm pretty sure my love for them started, and I recognized whenever they were on the radio.
A few years later, I was at my friend's house and the radio was on, turned to My Songs Know What You Did and when I walked into her room she was singing along to it. From then on it's been "our band" and most of our fights have been over it, but at the foundations, we get along because of some really great friends and Fall Out Boy.
