Bananas, what is it about these strange fruits that leads to such odd beliefs?

‘Bananas and eggs must not be eaten together or you will die’ codswollop!

There’d be dead people all over Canada and it’s neighbors every breakfast time if that was true, pancakes with bananas for breakfast anyone? Coffee shops all over New Zealand would be for ever hauling out dead bodys mid morning.Banana loaf with your latte?

English seaside tea rooms would have the local ambulance on quick dial when the silver surfers came into town, just in case anyone ordered banana and walnut cake with there tea!

How about ‘ mustn’t ever take a banana on a boat it’s really dangerous ’ just think about that, how on earth do they get to your local supermarket? Walk? Swim? Do you see bananas hearders leading their charges down the street? No you don’t they come by ship

While we’re on the subject of ships, there is a whole new load of nonsense there

‘must never have anything green on a ship it’s very unlucky’

what about the starboard light captain? Or all those green bananas in the hold?

or am I missing something here ?

Is it that, green = unlucky + bananas= unlucky somehow lucky?

I think we need some new superstitions

’see a discarded plastic bag, pick it up

then all day you’ll have good luck

provided you take it home and put it in the bin’

Or:-

’its realy unlucky to drink drink fizzy pop

On any day that has a ‘y’ in it‘

Or:-

likeing this piece of nonsense will bring you luck!
