Challenge
Challenge of the Week C
Innocent Perspective. You can write about anything you want, but the events that unfold must be seen and/or interpreted through the eyes of a child. Perhaps it's something endearing. Or enchanting. Or confusing. Maybe even haunting. Whatever it is, it's a child's experience. Fiction or non-fiction, poetry or Prose.
Invisible Friend
His name was Zukki. A miniature-sized dragon. He ate with me. Played with me. Slept with me. We'd run through the forest. Take bus rides. He'd help me clean my room, (not so much help there). My mom set a place for him at the dinner table. He went to school with me. There, however, he'd mess around, having learned that he was invisible to everyone else. I'd talk to him, alone in my room, hours on end. He was kind and innocent. He was so wise. He'd blink up at me with big yellow eyes, batting his small lime-green wings. He was one of the best friends I ever had. Little dragon from that other world. Funny how my adult heart can still miss him. Even now. Especially when a mere thought can bring him winging back to my side.
