My Backyard Adventure..
By Gary Agurries
As I extend my arms and run in a circle as if I was free.
I sang a whimsical song and climbed that old oak tree,
I rolled on the lawn and did a back handspring
I recited nursery rhymes, amd spent the afternoon whistling,
I ate three ice creams from a passing ice cream truck.
I got on a skateboard, and rode it on my butt.
I organized trucks in a pretend traffic formed line,
I sat on the porch and seen how many insects I could find.
It began to get dark as a car pulled up the driveway
Time to go inside, I was finished… I had playing all day
As my wife looked at me, I was filthy with grass stains on my knees.
I explained I was stuck outside. because in my car.. I locked my keys.
All and everything I did that day, I was ready to tell her.
I just decided that I would keep it a secret about my backyard adventure.
