False Pretense

You seem so sincere

But sincerity can be faked

You say you always tell the truth

But lies are easy to create

You seem so beautiful

But beauty’s only skin deep

You say what you see is what you get

But a façade is easy to keep

You seem so trustworthy

But trust can be misplaced

You say you’ll keep secrets

But divulging is easy when you’re two faced
