A betrayal of trust,

When I thought

Our friendship was just

A companionship built

On common ground,

Shared worries,

Similar insecurities

I adored talking with you,

Finally, someone

I could open up to

I thought it was mutual

For you, too

After years of being friends,

Spilling old stories,

Reassuring new failures,

You suddenly disappeared

Never to speak a word again

To this day, I wonder

If it was something I did,

If it was something I foolishly said,

Maybe you just

Never truly cared

All I can say is

It was a betrayal
