Death
Death frowned deeply, this had happened billions of times before. It reached out, gently, wanting to talk the life, but Life batted its arm away.
"Please," Death murmured. Life shook its head. It had never conceded before but Death had to try, "I can stop their suffering. With you they will only know a life of pain and hurt. I can protect them forever." Deaths pleading eyes searched those of Life. It wanted to wrap the tiny life in its arms of darkness and show it love, but Life would not listen until the little life had suffered enough it safisy it.
"No," Life said firmly. It curled its crooked mouth into a cold, foreboding grin. Life's teeth glistened with blood. "I am life. I am beautiful. I am everything that is good and you are everything that is and will always be bad. You destroy joy whereas I give those sorry souls a chance at me. This soul is mine.” Death stepped back at the words, they stung just like the sorrows Life would inflict upon the soul. Death had heard it all before, but it couldn’t give in quite yet.
“Please.”
“No.” And just like that, the tiny, hopeless soul was sucked out of the warm shielding shroud and into the cold, sad, world. Deaths scared head bent under the sadness it had taken away from its beautiful, beautiful souls after Life had tossed them away like a childs playthings. Death knew that soon, it would get the soul back- but not before Life had broken the soul into tiny, weeping pieces.
