Springs

He closed his eyes

just enough

allowed himself to summon

the song

from the Spring 

that swells

in the eyes

    the ears

in the thawing of streams

He closed his eyes

just enough

and allowed himself to dream

of Springs

and reactions he might bring

summoning every

warmth of feeling

every dampened dew

and crumpled tissue

He closed his eyes

just enough

to summon all the sirens

of love

knowing Spring 

would come 

     in step

like she always does
