Challenge
you.
I love the second person point of view because it is so universal: it could be anyone; it could even be ourselves. My challenge for you: write a piece of poetry or prose so ambiguous that the "you" could apply to anyone, everyone, or no one at all.
You’re Awake
You’re awake,
but you don’t want to be.
Today
is not your cup of tea.
Roll over
and you’ll go back to sleep.
But then
You’re talking to a friend.
They ask
when they’ll see you again.
But oops,
you only dreamt of them.
It’s time,
but you’re still in denial.
Really,
Why is this such a trial?
Breakfast!
Food... It has been a while...
Alright,
you guess you are worthy
of self care.
If you don’t try, who will?
So rise
and make your cup of tea.
