Blade
Two figures clad in black and navy blue sat atop the local inn, resting on the roof. One was sharpening a pointy dagger, while the other was nagging at him to quiet down. "Don't you know anything?" the second figure muttered. "You can't sharpen your dagger in plain sight, it'll reflect the light and then everyone will see us. And do you have to be so loud? You're going to fail this job. You know that, right, Rufus?" she taunted.
Rufus grunted. "Shut up, Sofia. You act like you've been doing this for longer than I have. I'M the veteran here. Show some respect," he sneered. Sofia harrumphed, and then made a noise similar to a squeak. "Look!" she wailed, pointing to a shape on the ground beneath them. "He sees us!"
Rufus didn't bother looking. Instead, he sheathed his dagger and motioned for Sofia to follow. The duo sneaked off the roof, climbing the wall expertly until their feet touched the ground. "What do you plan on doing?" Sofia whispered. "He obviously saw us!"
“If I know his name, I can kill him,” Rufus replied. "He went into the inn. Take your measly disguise off and book a room there. Make sure you find out his name."
Sofia rolled her eyes. "You plan on staining your sword before we've even reached the real client?" she retorted as she took her cloak off, revealing clothing that would suit a regular farmer's wife. Rufus glared at her. "No. I plan on staining YOUR sword," he snarled, grabbing Sofia's weapons belt. "You won't be needing it anyway, seeing as you'll be in plain sight," Rufus pointed out, unsheathing Sofia's blade with mild satisfaction. Sofia hissed in disdain.
"Fine. Have it your way. I'll be back."
