I wasn’t trying

To hit the nail on the head

With my too forceful words

I have killed it stone dead.

I wasn’t aiming

To be exactly spot on

With my clumsy remarks,

Now my meaning has gone

I wasn’t hoping

To have opened your eyes

With my made up response

And my careless half-lies

I wasn’t thinking

To have summed up your world

With my half-baked ideas

As my emotions unfurled.

I was just typing words

From my head to the page

Making space in my mind

For the words I can’t find.

So please stop reading them!
